Here I am standing against a wall, breathing air, in East Vancouver.
Mica Lemiski feels awkward about writing a third-person bio about herself, but she is not yet successful enough to hire someone to write it for her, and so here:
Mica is a Vancouver-based writer whose work has been published in the likes of VICE, The Walrus, Maisonneuve, MONTE CRISTO, Sad Mag, and more. She is a graduate of UBC MFA in Creative Writing. She has written one book of essays about her feelings. It has not been published…YET.
Mica is the host of the podcast, Fainting Couch Feminists, which is an audio program featuring artists (these artists being writers, mainly, though she also features musicians, comedians, filmmakers, and other interesting persons from time to time) talking about their life, their work, and various pop culture happenings. The show bills itself as best-suited to “witches, bitches, and anyone who’s ever been called hysterical.”
Mica was born in Vernon, B.C., and is looking forward to her retirement there in 40-50 years if fires have not consumed the land.
Mica dreams of owning an Italian Greyhound and naming it Larry David.
Mica’s favourite protein is mussels.
Mica thinks Jeff Goldblum is super hot.
Mica can differentiate between a dozen varieties of apples simply by looking at them. She has yet to find a practical use for this skill.
